Republic Day 2016 Nail Art!

Hello friends!

The country is all set to celebrate its 67th Republic Day on Tuesday 26th January with ceremonial parade in ‘Rajpath’. One of the biggest highlights this year is that the President of France Francois Hollande will be attending the event as a chief guest. It will also be one of the most unique parades in recent times. Here are some of the things to look out for:

Foreign army to participate in event for the first time

For the first time since 1950, a foreign army contingent will march down the Rajpath during the Republic Day parade.

Army dogs to march after 26 years

One of the major attractions this year which has already grabbed a lot of attention and raised the enthusiasm of people is that Indian Army dogs will march down the Rajpath on Tuesday after 26 long years.
Reportedly, the Army has selected 36 dogs out of total 1,200 Labradors and German Shepherds for the event. These canines are trained in jobs like detection of explosives, guarding, assaulting, etc, and play a vital role in saving lives of the soldiers at various occasions.

Shorter and crispier this time

Reportedly, the celebration this year will be 25 minute shorter than usual. The duration has been brought down to 90 minutes from 115 minutes, but the format will remain the same.

First time an All-women stunt contingent

The army jawans performing stunts on bikes are a major attraction during the parade and this year for the first time, an all-women stunt contingent will also be performing during the event. Reportedly, the contingent named ‘Women Daredevils CRPF’ comprising of 120 soldiers will showcase their skill this year.

Do It Yourself 2 (DIY) – Snowflakes Nail Art

Hello friends!

In the month of December snowflakes nail art is a must. So today, Creative Nails is gonna help you to get your snowflakes done. 🙂

Here is a step by step reference guide with photos.

Step 1: Apply the clear base coat (colorless polish) and let it dry.

Step 2: Apply one or two layers of light or dark blue color polish. Let it dry. (I have used sponge to get gradient on my nails, the tutorial for which will be posted at the earliest).

Step 3: If desired, a very thin layer of shimmer polish may be applied. Let it dry.

Step 4: Draw star shaped lines as in the photo.

Step 5: Draw “small v” shape at the edges of the lines of the star.

Step 6: In between the line draw smaller lines as shown in the pic and your snow flake is ready. 🙂

Step 7: If your nails are longer, you may draw one more smaller snowflake and can

draw a line in between the snowflakes as I have done.

Step 8: To enhance the beauty of your snowflakes you may place some rhinestones on it.

Step 9: Apply a top coat (colorless polish) and you are done. 🙂

Save Water Nail Design!

Hello friends!

Uff! Chubhthi jalthi garmi ka mausam aya!

Summer is back again! People are dying due to sunstrokes and due to the lack of drinking water. Whether it is Summer or Rainy season, it is our duty to save water. Creative Nails is listing a few easy ways to save water.

  • Turn the faucet/tap off while you are brushing your teeth, shaving, washing your hands, doing dishes, and so on
  • Check your plumbing for leaks, especially leaking toilets and faucets
  • Install low-flow shower heads and faucets or faucet aerators
  • Take shorter showers
  • Use waste water or gray water from the bath, washing machines or dish washing on the garden
  • Get or create a dual-flush toilet. This is basically a toilet that flushes a smaller amount of water for when you pee and more water for pooping, thereby saving water
  • Replace your clothes washing machine with a high-efficiency washer. Wash full laundry or dish loads
  • By installing a water meter you can raise your awareness and consequently reduce your water intake
  • Cover your swimming pool. This helps to prevent evaporation
  • Maintain your sprinklers and irrigation. If you have irrigation on timers, watch it run. Fix broken sprinkler heads and pipes and make sure that spray patterns are directed where they are intended
  • Wash the car at a car wash. Car washes may use less water than you can use at home. Car washes also collect and filter the waste water appropriately
  • Care for your lawn in a more water-efficient manner. Only water the areas that need it, and only when there has not been enough rain. Use a trigger nozzle on your house or use a watering can to save water
  • Use mulch on your garden to retain moisture

Warnings:

  • If you’re collecting rainwater, be sure to mosquito-proof your collection system.
  • Due to water rights laws, collecting rain water may be illegal in your area, so check with your community or county first.
  • If you choose to reclaim gray water for garden use, make sure that any soaps or detergents you use are safe for that purpose. Don’t use gray water for food plants.
